HYMNS 101–102 · RISEN DOUGH RECORDS
Six A.M.
Debut cassette. Ten songs recorded live to a borrowed 4-track in the empty fellowship hall over two Saturday mornings in March 1995, because Sunday mornings were spoken for. The handclaps on side B are the youth group. Sold from the tailgate of a brown station wagon after church for five dollars. Tracy reset the tape counter before every take and wrote the numbers on the J-card by hand.
- 01Never After Noon
Opened every sale-Sunday set from 1995 on. The gang vocals are the youth group.

You came in after Sunday School with your hood up and your head down The tables were folding and the coffee had gone cold You figured you had missed it, that's what you always figure You were halfway to the door when somebody said hold on Somebody saved you one Wrote your name on the lid Somebody looked around this room And noticed that you never did Somebody saved you one It's not much, I know But somebody knew you were coming Before you even said so It wasn't any sermon, it wasn't any song It was Tracy with a marker and a box she wouldn't let us close You stood there for a minute like you didn't know the rules Then you sat down with the drummer and you stayed until noon Somebody saved you one Wrote your name on the lid Somebody looked around this room And noticed that you never did Somebody saved you one It's not much, I know But somebody knew you were coming Before you even said so And now you're twenty-one And you're the one who stays Counting all the hoods up In the back on Sundays Somebody saved you one Wrote your name on the lid Somebody looked around this room And noticed that you never did Somebody saved you one It's not much, I know But somebody knew you were coming Before you even said so
